As we all know, life can get pretty heavy at times. Catholics hear “carry your cross” all the time but living through that day to day is very different than just reading it in the bible. As a Catholic, it’s very important we remain faithful and trust God’s plan for us. It is one of the hardest things to do, but I try my best every day to find peace in knowing that God’s will is better for me than whatever I have planned for myself. There are some days where I can’t even bring myself to pray if I’m being completely honest, though. Sometimes my best looks like just simply asking God to give me strength to get through even the simplest of tasks. A few of the crosses I carry daily are academic stress, family pressure, and fear of failure in my career. These are only a few of the things I carry and I know many other people carry these things and way more. Carrying our cross means showing up when we’d rather shut down or staying faithful when everything seems to be falling apart.

All these things that God allows us to go through are a part of his plan for each and every one of us. It allows us to connect every aspects of our lives to Him and His plan. Something that helps me get through difficult situations is reminding myself that everything happens for a reason. While I usually do not know the reason behind certain things happening, I have faith that God is allowing me to experience these things to teach me something.
